Turkey – Interview with Feriha Yagmur Isci

Short description

The government appointed a rector for the Boğaziçi University, one of Turkey’s most liberal universities, and that has sparked outrage among the professors, the general public and especially the young people all over the country, who see it as an act to shut down their voices – the rector has all the power to make regulations regarding the university life and subjects. Mr Erdoğan accused the protesters of being “terrorists” and LGBTQ youth working against Turkey’s “national and spiritual values”. The protesters are getting arrested and violently attacked by the police. In order to discuss this topic, we invited Ms. Feriha Yagmur Isci, a university student into our show.
